How to Get a Car Donated to You in Texas

Fortunately, there are some organizations that actually fix the donated cars up and give them to a deserving individual or family. If you live in the state of Texas, you have a few organizations to apply to. It is important, however, that you follow the proper procedure in order to increase your chances of being awarded a car.
List the specific reasons why you need a car, and why you feel you are deserving of it. Organizations that give away cars will ask you for this info. It is best if you are already prepared with an intelligent answer.
Gather together your financial documents if you are requesting a car due to a financial hardship. In all cases, you will need a valid driver's license. Your driving record must also be clean. If you are requesting a car due to an emergency or natural disaster, get together documents that can prove this.

Share your need for a vehicle with your local church. This is an excellent option if the charities you applied to do not have enough vehicles to meet the current demand. Many churches have benevolence funds set up to help church members and members of their immediate community. The church may check to verify that you have a genuine need before they agree to help you.
